A Few Last Minute Easter Resources: No planning required

It’s not that these last minute Easter resources aren’t awesome or worthwhile of spending much more time on, but these resources are ones that you can get your hands on and use right away if life has been messy and real at your house recently….meaning you haven’t gotten projects looked up, lists made, things ordered or supplies gathered, books ordered from inter-library loan and on and on!

You know what I mean right?  This time of year is hard for a lot of reasons:  illness that spreads through every single member of the house….1 at a time, dragging on for weeks, school becomes extra busy with Spring-time activities, home-business may be making seasonal changes, taxes are due soon or if you live on a farm Spring means lots of new babies (so much fun but time-consuming and sleep-depriving!).  Whatever situation has caused me to ask, “How did I get here?  I had so many hopes and dreams of such a great Easter week!” is at the same time causing me to have the conflicting feelings that as a Christian, Easter should be more important than Christmas so how have I pushed this onto the back burner?

BUT then that’s when I have to STOP all that negative self-talk that gets me into trouble and realize that the true meaning of Easter isn’t actually doing the fun projects.

BUT then that’s when I have to STOP all that negative self-talk that gets me into trouble and realize that the true meaning of Easter isn’t actually doing the fun projects like growing wheat grass in the cute planter surrounding the home-made sourdough tomb.

Although there’s nothing wrong with using those fun projects to remember and celebrate Easter and New Life, they are not the meaning themselves.  I have to realize that although Pinterest is a great resource, it is just that…a resource.

Although things may have played out differently in my mind, my heart can be encouraged that every single little thing I do with my family to remind them of the true meaning of Easter, is one more step closer to us realizing who Christ is in our everyday lives!

So many times we will continue carrying out “Easter” activities the week following Easter…gasp!  That’s OK because “Easter” and its celebration of Life is a year-round event!  Hallelujah!

So here are a few last minute Easter resources that you can use today, this week, or even the upcoming weeks!  Most of them require NO PLANNING! Some free, some minimal charge.

An additional idea:  After you print and color your coloring pages, take them with you on the way to the store or to run errands in town and drop by the nursing home or assisted living apartments and hand them out as Easter cards!  If time permits, and you have a piano-player (or guitar player) in your family, take a few minutes and tickle those ivory keys with some Easter hymns!  I bet you’ll get lots of people singing along, a lot of happy faces and a full heart when you finish!
